Tree of Life
Site-specific Installation Proposal
For museums, galleries, corporations, retail, and private residence
I propose to create a site-specific art installation, highlighting my newest series, in one of your galleries, lobbies, entranceways or other open space in which you want to create a unique and notable sensation. The custom installation will consist of a unique mural-sized painting of a stylized tree on one of your gallery or display walls, and can be a temporary or permanent installation. When the wall painting is complete, I will hang many of my bark art Pyroglyphs on the “branches” and “trunk” of the tree. Initially, my rendition of the tree will be digitally projected onto the wall so that I may quickly transfer the image by tracing the tree lines and leaves in pencil. Depending on the size of the space, the tree could be up to 10 feet tall and 16 feet wide. If necessary, the tree could be as small as 6 feet tall and 9 feet wide. Using a flat latex paint, I will paint in the tree with a variety of natural tree-colors. When the mural paint is dry, I will begin hanging the mounted Pyroglyphs on the wall, using a small 1” brad for each piece. When all the works are hung and the tree is complete, I will add didactic panels on either side of the tree. The panels will explain this installation, provide a description of the Pyroglyph process and materials, and provide a biography of the artist. I will also provide a schematic of the tree proving informative titles for each of the Pyroglyphs. Contact me directly to discuss your ideas.
